Fundraiser for Baby Jackson

Meet my NEPHEW, Jackson Baird Verner!!!

Some of you are aware that my sister, Sara,  has been in the hospital for nearly a month now. She was originally admitted for severe eclampsia, and then stayed due to other complications. This week, she was told that there excess amniotic fluid was placing pressure on the baby, and she had to undergo a very painful procedure to remove some of the fluid.

Last night, my sister went into pre-mature labor and the doctors were forced to perform an emergency c-section at 31 weeks. Although baby Jackson is quite a little champ, he is still not breathing on his own quite yet, but I know he is a fighter. My sister is recovering as well herself and all she just kept repeating that Jackson is the most beautiful baby she has ever seen!! I was in tears!! Please keep baby Jackson and my sister, Sara,  lifted up in prayer. He is expected to be in the hospital for about 7-8 weeks.

My sister has not had time, nor the money to get ready for the baby and I decided to open a fundraiser to help her get the things she needs for baby Jackson!! She literally has nothing, but a stroller for the baby. The fundraiser will help her get the things she needs for baby Jackson when he is allowed to come home!!

I created a form that you can make a donation for baby Jackson as well as to write her a little letter to read while she is in the hospital and she worries about Jackson's condition. If you are unable to donate, please consider completing the field in the form to write her a letter or share a story with her to keep her mind positive. She has been in the hospital for a long while, which is quite discouraging for her. I believe the letters will help her feel less alone and will offer her love and encouragement when she needs it the most.

I think the letters will also be nice for her to print and keep in Jackson's baby book!!

If you feel compelled to mail her something, either used baby items or maybe just a card to read, please email me directly and I will give you an address where you can send her something special directly.

My email address is 3amteacher@gmail.com. I will not be posting the address online for obvious reasons, but I will not prevent any of you from overflowing her with blessings.

If you would like to make a donation and/or send Sara and baby Jackson a letter, please click the link below to complete the form. Please feel free to share the link as much as you would like to. I know she will be more than blessed by your letters and your donations!!

    2. She is not registered anywhere because she has been in the hospital for the last month. Email me and I will let you know what hospital she is at in California, if that is what you mean...

  2. Wow, he is a strong guy and already making great strides. He may surprise all of you and go home in a month. My youngest was 8 weeks early, once he could eat we were released, only spent a month in the NICU, will keep her and Jackson in my prayers. If she can be there with him, that is the best thing for both of them. I will be in contact. Hugs and prayers to all.

    1. Thank you so much!! He seems to be doing really well so far and I am hopeful that he will get to go home earlier than expected. I think my sister is nervous and a bit overwhelmed with the roller-coaster of emotions. For now, she is there at the hospital, which is very nice.

  5. Just wanted to encourage you and your family! My daughter was born at 31 weeks....she is now 5 1/2 and you would never know she was a preemie. They are such little fighters! She is taller and healthier than most kids we know. I wish him well....and hope he is out of the hospital soon. Naina stayed 29 days (long enough to grow to pounds and learn how to suck). I hope your sister's complications are quickly resolved as well. Good luck and best wishes to you and yours.

  6. Keep the faith! Both my boys were born 6 weeks early, had jaundice, extended hospital stays, and my youngest had breathing issues for a short while, too, just like Jackson. You'd never, ever know they were preemies, as my oldest is now 13 and 5'7"! There is nothing in this world that love and faith and prayers cannot overcome. Saying a prayer for continued strength for both your sister and Jackson.
