A Bloggy Lesson, A Blooper & A Freebie!!

Okay! I have decided to post a couple of tutorials, which most of you probably are familiar with and it may sound a little like...BLAH...BLAH...BLAH..I have received a ton of requests on how to add the pin button to a post and how to make a grab button...Both of which I had to learn on my own. I have this obsession with wanting to know how everything works and most of the time I am pretty successful at it, but sometimes -like in the instance of trying to find the right code for the cool rolling feature to display all of your lovely grab buttons...you should be thankful to Erika at The Honey Bunch because she gave me the code and now I can brag about all of your wonderful bogs!!!

Here is Erika's button...she is amazing!!

Here is the agenda for this evening...get out your notebooks and watch this cool awesome video that I just taught myself how to create...ah ha!!!Sometimes I get so excited with myself for accomplishing something, but not in a way to brag...but just because it feels good to not give up and produce something wonderfully beautiful...like learning how to ride a bike...okay, back to the agenda

1. How to add a pin in button to your blog

#2. Confession of a BIG BLOOPER...That only one person caught...HAHAHAHAHA

#3 Shhhhhhh.... freebies (this is small because I want you to eat all your veggies before you get your treat...LOL)

#1 Adding a pin it button to your posts!!!
Lesson # 100 Class Z
I don't like being a follower of the crowd...I'll start at the end, plus also, it makes me feel like I have accomplished much more...hehehe)

(If you are a genius and did not need this tutorial, well then skip to number 2...and if you hired someone...good...you can read the blooper alert and get your treat...P.S...you can unfriend me now, because I don't like over-achievers...hehehe.)

Watch the coolest video...made by me
(no sound...sorry couldn't figure that one out...you're lucky you get this...be thankful...hehehe)

Step #1  - Log in to your Pinterest account....

I will go very slow
Step #2 - At the top of your Pinterest page, go to ABOUT>>>PIN IT BUTTON>>>GOODIES

Step #3 - Scroll down almost to the end of the "Goodies" page and STOP when you get to the title that states: "PIN IT BUTTON FOR WEBSITES"

Step #4 Input your URL (bog address) into the first option where it states, URL OF THE WEBPAGE THE PIN IS ON  (you do not need to fill in the url for an image UNLESS you are choosing to have your own custom image for the pin it button...for advanced classes only...heheh)

Step #5 Copy the generated code (I always open Onenote and paste in any code just in case I lose it or something shuts down on me)

Step #7 Log in to your Blogger account

Step #8 Go to DESIGN>>>SETTINGS>>>POSTS & COMMENTS

Step #9 Paste the code from the previous steps into the box that states: POST TEMPLATE
(In the video, you will notice that I have more code, these are other codes...so don't panic...yours will NOT look the same as mine...I have added the TPT button, as well as my cute little signature button)

Step #10   SAVE...SAVE...SAVE>>> Okay, you only need to save your setting once, but it is important to save.

Step #11  Add a NEW TEST POST  (you should see the code or button in your post already - I have to center mine each time...that will be a later tutorial...hehehe) & say whatever you like...
Suggested topic for your test post: The 3AM Teacher is awesome...or maybe crazy...or possibly both

Step #12   Publish your NEW POST

Step # 13 Test your button and make sure it works...Hopefully it does...or else no one will ever read any of my tutorials again..(keep in mind to be gentle, this is my first public tutorial appearance)

NOW...watch the video.....I really hope this video plays...I did a lot of self teaching today to use Microsoft Expression Encoder (a program I already have) to record my screen activity...but the hard part was trying to figure out how to convert it into a friendly video...TOOK FOREVER...luckily, when I'm determined to figure something out....I am VERY DETERMINED...(I'll just say that)

This video is not good quality when expanded...I will have to figure out how to improve that...sorry...

Next on the AGENDA.....MY BLOOPER

Okay, so last week I received several requests to make clocks for my "Telling Time" collection that would display time to every 5 minutes...I said...sure...no prob...I can do this...easy...in just a few minutes...At about 4am in the morning. Here is what I did...

I thought to myself...hmmm, I don't need to do 12:00, because I have already made clocks that display time to the hour!!!!!! LOOK CLOSELY PEOPLE

Now LAUGH HYSTERICALLY WITH ME (NOT AT ME PLEASE)!!! Well, apparently a lot of you are just as tired as I am because you didn't catch this either!!! I logged onto TPT this morning and noticed sales were down...bummer...then I saw that I had a question...hmmm, okay, maybe someone is requesting more clip art...I better get on that right away!!

BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...it actually was a bit rude (truthful, I'll give her that)

The UNNAMED WOMAN wrote....The new clocks are all wrong!!! I immediately...went...this lady must not see really well,, I better check to make sure...I opened the file and looked. I said, duh! The big hand is on the minutes and the little hand is on the hour...what is wrong with that??? BWAHAHAHAHAHA   HAHAHAHAHAHAH  Than my brain began to work properly and I realized what I had done.....I was totally embarrassed, but I figured - hey, we all make mistakes...I have a Duel Masters Degree in Education, but somehow, I was using the hour hand on a clock to represent the minutes....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..All I can do is laugh out loud...

Well, I immediately fixed it, but I deleted the question...really, it was an accident because I was using the ipad & I didn't get a chance to respond to the lady who caught my blooper...whoever you are...THANK YOU...THANK YOU VERY MUCH (no sarcasm included) This could have been bad if everyone noticed...hehehehehehe. Well, they are fixed now and I sent out a notification of the revision on TPT, so those of you who have purchased the Telling Time collection, please click on the picture to download the revised file (I left the extra set of clocks in the file....just to make you laugh)

AND CHECK OUT MY NEW HEADER ON TPT...IT'S BEACH..IN...GET IT???

now for your treat...HOPEFULLY YOU ATE ALL YOUR VEGGIES...HEHEHEHE

EASTER BUNNY IS A COMIN!

  1. Thanks for the pin tutorial and the cute eggs!
    Pin it button officially added!
If you want to have it centered, just put center in <> at the beginning and /center in <> at the end. Those are the center tags.
(I wanted to actually put the word center in the brackets, but the comment box wouldn't let me! So the brackets go around the center and the /center.)

  11. Love the eggs! You are so talented! As for the clocks, we are all human and make mistakes! Yesterday, I taught my class what can happen when you stand on a desk! (The leg might just not be screwed in very tight and slide right up inside itself! Ouch! Bruised ego and an even bigger one on my knee!

  14. Please help Michelle! I am determined to get this pin it thing to work!

I tried the way you explained it, but it wasn't showing up, maybe because I have to go under SETTINGS then FORMATTING instead of post/comments? This is the only place I found the box that says POST TEMPLATE.

    Thanks!

  19. Just looking at those clocks, as well as the hands being swapped... the hand that is supposed to be the hour hand isn't positioned right. E.g. for half past 12 it should be halfway between the 12 and the 1 not still right on the 12.
