When Life Gives You Lemons....CELEBRATE!!!

Hey everyone!! I have been a bit absent for a couple of weeks and I feel like I am missing a ton!! I tend to withdraw a bit when my personal life feels like there is a hurricane about to hit. I used to find it very easy to "put on the face"

... you know what I'm talking about... the face that looks like you just licked a lemon, but you don't want anyone to notice the sour-party going on in your mouth??

I don't find "faking" a smile as easy at it used to be and I tend to lose my creative drive when my heart is heavy. I will not bore you with the details, but I am feeling a mix of emotions and feelings about some things that are changing...and I have no control or say over the matter. I am hopeful that something good will come of this...at least that is what I keep telling myself. I have come to an understanding that life continues to teach me more about myself and I know that there is purpose for the storms we all walk through... there just has to be -by GOLLY!

To top it off, I hurt my knee pretty bad at the end of last week... but my knee seems to be right with the program, because it continues to get better and better everyday... it is everything else that seems to be dragging. I am in a place in my life where I will have to completely and wholeheartedly rely on God. Seems like such a simple task; however, maybe not so much when the storm is rolling!! Just when I thought that I was going to literally break down in tears today I got a phone call from a friend who filled me with hope at the moment I needed it the most!! God's timing is everything... Can I get an AMEN?? I'd even settle for a loud,  WOOT WOOT!! haha

While the storm is brewing and my knee improving, I have taken the time to get excited about Etsy's DIGITAL FILE storage!! It is about time!!! I was able to upload every file, except the math bundles (which were just too large), but I am relieved that buyers will not have to twiddle their thumbs while they wait for their files. This was the biggest drawback of havng an Etsy store, but I saddled up any way....tough times call for bigger commitments...right?? I was more than excited to see this feature integrated....and without any extra fees... as of yet (fingers crossed)

I uploaded over 100 files....YEAH me!! To celebrate, I am offering a huge discount on all of my digital files at my Etsy shop! I guess you can say that Teacher Appreciation came a little early..hahaha...

Thank you for all of your help and support & I hope that your week is a bit less stormy than mine... It is a good thing that we all don't go through a storm at the exact same moment because friends can be a giant umbrella & I am thankful and blessed that I have so many caring friends...and from all over the world! You all are so incredibly wonderful!! Click the banner below to visit my Etsy shop!!

P.S. Feel free to snag the lemonade pitcher at the top!!!

  1. Michelle,
Here is a little Woot Woot and Amen for ya at 3 am!
After Chris had his accident last Friday, I have been humbled by the sheer power of prayer and just how glorious God is in our time of need. Letting go and giving up our control of the situation is always a tough task....but leaving things in God's hands is the smartest thing we can do! I hope your rainy days will be over soon...only to be followed by rainbows and lots of sunshine!
    Hugs to you!
    Julie

  2. Michelle- Not only do I appreciate your artistic brilliance, but your honesty as well. I have been in a not-so-good place for quite awhile and the only thing that has saved me is my faith in God and his loving grace. Do you know the songs "Praise You in this Storm" by Casting Crowns or "Need You Now" by Plumb? Both of these have ministered to me and I pray they do the same for you! :-) Lauren Teacher Mom of 3

    1. You are such a blessing!! I know both of those songs and more... I'll take anything at this point. The unknown is scary and I am definitely trying to stay afloat. Girl... If you ever need to talk, I am here to listen!! I will be praying for you as we'll- I can imagine that there are probably many of use walking through some rough things, but too many of those people hide it from the world. I just can't fake it anymore... I need people and I am not ashamed to say that I need friends right now more than ever. Keeping this bottled only blocks my ability to hear God speak to my heart. Fear can be debilitating. And I am not referring to fearing for my life, but just the fear of not being able to manage things on my own or knowing what decisions to make.

  3. Hey hey Michelle, I'm sad that your storm is threatening you right now. Do you remember the good news, bad news book? It's kind of good to look at things that way sometimes. It sort of helps to put some balance in your life. Bad news: you hurt your knee. Good news: you feel better each day. Bad news: your creativity is on hold. Good news: you found more space to add MORE stuff at Etsy. Bad news: life gives you lemons. Good news: you make a beautiful pitcher (or picture) of lemonade! Bad news: you have some bumps in your road. Good news: we are ALWAYS there

    2. Oh my goodness!!! Thank you so much and I love your good news, bad news break down...hahaha. I am so thankful to have friends like you - just that alone- really adds peace to my heart. I always learn something from every challenge, so I have hope and trust that I needed a push in a new direction to learn something incredible about myself.

Thank you so much for your encouragement and for praying!!! I know how powerful prayer is and how valuable spending a few moments in silence can be. Prayer brings wisdom, perspective, and peace.... I will need to be praying a lot...hahaha

  4. I'll be praying for you! Change is SO difficult...well, it is for me. My school is moving to a new location and, like you, I have no say. The circumstances should have been exciting, but I am finding it to be a hard situation.

Thanks for sharing your heart. I'm headed over to Etsy to check out the sale!

    1. You are so right!!! I hope you get a really cool new classroom to make up for the move... moving a classroom is like moving an entire house..hahaha... I used to have to take everything down at the end of the years when I taught Kinder and it was such a pain... The positive thing about change is that we always adapt...

Thank you so much for checking out the sale and I hope things work out for you next year!! I bet you'll have the best group of kids..LOL
